The National Weather Service in northwestern Gunnison County this evening has issued a flood advisory for Mesa and Delta counties, as well as southwestern Eagle County, western Pitkin County,  Grand Junction and southern Garfield County.
The warning is good through 10:15 p.m.
Thunderstorms have dropped up to 1.5 inches of rain in some areas over the past 24 hours, according to the weather service warning. In Grand Junction alone, some .57 inches of rain were recorded for the day as of 6 p.m., breaking a record from 1893.
Forecasters are calling for a 50 percent chance of rain in Grand Junction tonight and a low temperature of 38 degrees.
A chance of rain will continue for the next several days.
