In Passing through: Crested Butte, a recent Powder Magazine article, one rider highlights some of our favorite places to ski, eat, drink and stay in this one of a kind ski town. Crested Butte Mountain Resort attracts skiers and snowboarders of all kinds. You are likely to see a few first timers, plenty of locals or repeat visitors and you may even find yourself on the lift with a world class athlete. With an additional forty acres of skiable terrain in Teo 2, which opened last year, there is something for everyone on the mountain. You can hit the bumps, do laps on groomers or crush glades all day- the possibilities are nearly endless in this skier’s paradise.
After the bindings come off, Crested Butte offers an array of dining and Après ski options. Sherpa Café and Lil’s Sushi are just a few of the culinary stops along Elk Avenue in town. The Brown Laborador Pub and Bakery (slopeside) and The Dogwood Cocktail Cabin are perfect places to wet your whistle after a blissful day on the mountain.
Skiing is a way of life in Crested Butte.  As the article notes, Crested Butte folks “always appear blissed out…” and why wouldn’t we be? It’s the best place on Earth to live and play.
