Passion Within with a CBMR Avy Dog

Passion Within with a CBMR Avy Dog is the first video in a  four part “Passion Within” series. In the opening scene the familiar flop of labrador ears may lead you to believe this is just another play day in the snow, but this pup is on the clock and his mission is to save lives! Join one year old Moose, a yellow lab pup and his handler Justin on their adventures as Crested Butte Ski Patrol. Moose and Justin team up to patrol the resort as Moose trains to be a lean (anything but mean) avalanche rescue machine. The adorable lab rides the lift, trots in between Justin’s legs as he skis and even hangs on to the snowmobile as part of his daily routine. In bounds avalanches are extremely rare, but the dogs train every day – just in case. He completes “hide and go seek” type training exercises of various types including live burials to prepare him for worst case avalanche scenarios. Justin and Moose have a serious job, but they seem to be making the best of it – they are both all smiles when it comes to their job on the mountain.  While he is extremely well behaved, Moose enjoys playing in the snow, roughhousing with the other Avalanche dogs and letting his ears fly as he rides on the front of the sled.  Moose even hits the slopes alongside Justin in the backcountry on their days off.
