At the end of last year, Outside Magazine published their list of the 100 Best Places to Work. Employees were asked to review aspects of their jobs such as role satisfaction, corporate culture, policies, perks and work culture. Companies were broken down into categories reflecting Outside’s core values. The five categories are Adventure & Travel, Health & Wellness, Advertising, Gear and Culture. The list of 100 has over 30 Colorado based companies! Coming in at Number 4 in the Health and Wellness category is Crested Butte’s very own Adaptive Sports Center. The local nonprofit’s mission is to empower and assist people with disabilities to ski, hike, bike or climb. They aim to enhance overall health, independence and quality of life of their participants. When helping someone accomplish seemingly impossible goals on a daily basis is just another day at the office- its no wonder why the Crested Butte Adaptive Sports Center made the list! You may be thinking that sounds like the best job ever.  Well, it gets better. The “office” is typically a ski slope, trail or river, but when employees need to catch up on business, they work in a dog friendly office where the “work hard, play hard” mentality is encouraged. Employees also regularly join together outside of work for hikes, a morning skin up the mountain or an after-work  beer.
