The Quarter Report – First Quarter 2016 from Benson Sotheby’s International Realty has been published. The detailed report shows that the local real estate market is doing great in the Upper Valley and the positive trend will likely continue. In the Overall Market (including Crested Butte, Mt. Crested Butte, rural Crested Butte, CB South and Almont) the first quarter showed a 27% increase in total sales volume over the same period last year. The winter months are typically slower than the summer, so the total sales volume is likely to continue to increase as we head into the summer. In the first quarter, residential properties saw the largest increase, but land sales are expected to pick up once the snow melts away and the parcels can be viewed more easily. The Quarter Report has a lot of impressive stats broken down by single family homes, condos/townhouses, and land. The numbers show a clearly healthy market, but some of the stats really stand out. For example, single family homes in Mt. Crested Butte had an 82.6% increase in total sales volume when compared to the First Quarter – 2015 and total sales of condos and townhouses in Crested Butte showed an impressive 393.6% increase!
