National Geographic – the World’s premier magazine on Travel, Culture and Adventure – offers their picks for America’s 10 best Mountain Bike Towns. In creating the list, National Geographic considered obvious factors like mind blowing bike trails and trail maintenance, but also took into account the “bike vibe” of each town when choosing their top ten. Listed in no particular order, these towns offer a variety of outdoor activities, a community which supports and promotes bicycle culture and offers places to hang out and socialize with your comrades after a day of hard-hitting single track. Crested Butte, a regular on mountain bike bucket lists, offers over 750 miles of single track with everything from beginner trails to rugged extreme terrain and climbs up to 13,000 feet elevation. The bike culture is just as much a part of this community as skiing and the variety of trails means you can see wildflowers, rock formations or gnarly back country during the day and check out the town watering holes and eateries when you’ve maxed out on two wheeled fun. There are so many options, the worst part of your trip may be having to choose!  Check out the full article for great suggestions on where to stay, where to eat and other recreational activities in Crested Butte as well as the other nine of America’s 10 Best Mountain Bike Towns.
