The Sherpa Café is most likely one of Crested Butte, Colorado’s most underrated restaurants. Hidden away on a side street, just steps off of historic Elk Avenue, between Third and Maroon, this little restaurant is absolutely worth the experience. The Sherpa Café offers cooked to order, authentic, traditional Tibetan, Nepalese, and Indian foods. Using fresh local ingredients and authentic spices, the chefs at the Sherpa Café pride themselves in staying true to their roots, offering mouthwatering dishes. As you walk down the street, the aroma of the spices and fresh baked Naan draw you in. Serving everything from spicy curry dishes, fresh handmade dumplings and soups to noodle dishes, there is something for the whole family to love. “Their Veggie Thukpa [soup] just warms your soul” says one loyal local. With plenty of appetizers and entrees to choose from, vegetarians and meat eaters alike will enjoy all of the options available. Most dishes you can choose from vegetable or tofu to meats such as chicken, beef, shrimp or lamb. Have picky eaters? Not to worry, they also have a Kids Menu with kid friendly options such as Mac n’ Cheese and Chicken Fingers. Open for lunch and dinner, the Sherpa Café offers large portions at amazingly low prices. Check out their menu and stop in the next time you’re looking for a bite, you will not walk away hungry!
