The 2017 Original Growler
We are just about a month away from The 2017 Original Growler endurance mountain bike race in Gunnison, Colorado. Over the past 10 years, we have seen The Original Growler race and Half Growler race grow in popularity with the Half Growler race often selling out far in advance. The Growler races offer riders a challenging day of singletrack mountain biking on some of the best trails in Colorado with the reward of not only a killer party at the end of the day, but plenty of well earned bragging rights. This year’s Half Growler has sold out with the only sure way to experience the Half Growler being to sign up for Sunday’s Half Growler race which uses the exact same course.  The 2017 race offers lots of new trails and less road riding. Many of these new trails were made possible using funds generated by The Original Growler entry fees. Also new this year are Half Growler categories for younger riders. Categories for Middle and High School kids will be offered during both Saturday and Sunday’s Half Growler races.  For the littler kids, not quite up to the Half Growler races, there will be Growler Cup Kid’s Races held at the base area of Hartman Rocks on both Saturday and Sunday. These races will follow a shorter, flatter course for the littler kids while the bigger kids will follow a more technical, vertical, longer course. The Kid’s Races races will be family and spectator friendly with the marked courses available most of the day for the little rippers to lap. The Original Growler Race is one not to miss and a great way to kick off the 2017 mountain biking season.
