Best Of Rockies 2017
We have so many great businesses, events and destinations here in the great Rocky Mountains, it’s hard to pick just one in each category. Elevation Outdoors Magazine did the work for us, asking their readers to nominate their favorites and then vote within each category. The region spanned across Montana, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico.  From “Best Businesses” to “Best Destinations”, Crested Butte and Gunnison both made the list several times. Here are just a few of our local favorite that made the list. Camp 4 Coffee was a runner up for the “Best Coffee Shop”, the Mill Castle Trail was named “Best Hiking Trail” with Copper Lake/East Maroon Pass being a runner up. Snodgrass in Crested Butte was named the “Best Running Trail”. The “Best Whitewater Run” runner up goes to Oh Be Joyful. Gunnison was named the “Best Dog Friendly Destination” with plenty of dog friendly hotels and places to get out with your furry friend. The “Best Mountain Biking Trail” of course goes to Crested Butte, home of Mountain Biking, with Doctor Park being the favorite. The “Best Road Bike Ride” goes to Cottonwood Pass just to our South. And no surprise here, “The Best Ski/Snowboard Resort” as well as “Best Inbounds Ski/Snowboard Terrain” goes to Crested Butte Mountain Resort.  Crested Butte again takes the No. 1 spot for “Best Beer Festival” with the fall Chili & Beer Festival. Crested Butte and Gunnison took several other No. 1 and runner up spots on this list of the Best of Rockies 2017. Be sure to check them all out.
