Writing the Rockies Annual Conference
The Writing the Rockies Annual Conference is one of the region’s major writers’ conferences. Run by the Graduate Program in Creative Writing at Western State Colorado University, the Writing the Rockies Annual Conference is held each year on the last long weekend in July. Now in its 18th year, this annual conference brings together an outstanding roster of not only writers but also editors, publishers, teachers and more to discuss topics such as fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, screenwriting, publishing and more. This year the conference welcomes more than 50 speakers, including Screenwriting keynote speaker and Emmy winner Mike Reiss, best known for his work as a writer and producer for The Simpsons. The conference is held on the campus of Western State Colorado University in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains in beautiful Gunnison, Colorado. There will be a wide range of special events, lectures, readings, seminars, workshops and even a book fair featuring hundreds of titles by the conference presenters and speakers. Co-sponsored by Western’s Department of Communication Arts, Language and Literature, the Writing the Rockies Annual Conference welcomes not only students but beginners, published writers, editors, teachers and anyone who loves the power of the writer word. For a full conference scheduled click here.
