The Best Places to See the Most Vibrant Fall Foliage in Central Colorado
Last weekend we celebrated the 19th Annual Chili & Beer Festival, for many indicating the unofficial kick-off to fall. The aspen leaves have already started turning shades of gold, dotting the hillsides with patches of color. We’re enjoying the last weeks of warm sunny weather as we take in the fall colors. If you’re looking for The Best Places to See the Most Vibrant Fall Foliage in Central Colorado, you don’t have to look too far. Many of the best places are right here in our own backyard. From Gunnison to Gothic, there are so many off-the beaten-path places you can take in the beautiful fall foliage. Take a drive over Ohio Pass past scenic ranches. Along the way stop and take a hike through the golden aspens to the Beaver Pond. Continue up Ohio Pass to where it intersects with Kebler Pass, another great road to take in the colors of fall. You can either head North toward Paonia or South to Crested Butte. Either way, the road will wind through groves of aspens and awesome colors. Stop for lunch in beautiful historic Crested Butte and then make your way to the historic, once ghost town, of Gothic Colorado. No matter where you decide to go, you’ll be in awe of the natural beauty fall brings to our valley.
