With news of Vail’s Resorts purchase we can expect this summer selling season to be one of the best since the recession. Inventory remains tight in the town of Crested Butte with only 14 single family homes on the market, down from 15 last month. Mt. Crested Butte has 28 active homes, up slightly from May. Condo and townhome inventory is up in Mt. Crested Butte as well with 83 active condos and town homes on the market. Rural Crested Butte has 11 condos and town homes and 50 single family homes on the market. Crested Butte South has 9 single family homes on the market and 7 condos/town homes, up from just 3 last month. Expect a flood of inventory in the coming months as sellers expecting higher prices put their properties on the market.
We experienced 17 single family home and condo sales in the upper valley in May totaling $10,372,500. Sales ranged from a convenient Grand Lodge Condo selling for $105,000, to a spec build 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath, Mt. Crested Butte home on Anthracite selling for $1,550,000.
Eight parcels of land sold in May totaling $1,814,150, one of which was 35+ acres.
