Curbed recently put out an article which nailed why Crested Butte is a great option to the I-70 corridor. We’ve probably all sat in the I-70 ski traffic at one time or another. What should only take a couple of hours often takes 4+ hours on a busy weekend in either direction. Most Denver locals and those flying through DIA tend to make a beeline for Summit County skiing leading to ski traffic nightmares.

Curbed Ski recently put out their top 9 reasons why Crested Butte is worth the detour from I-70. A round trip drive to Crested Butte from Denver on the weekend can be less than driving to and from almost any Summit County resort. Not only is the drive shorter, Crested Butte has a more down-to-earth vibe than some of the larger resorts.
