The following ski resorts are FOR SALE: Crested Butte CO, Northstar CA, Brighton UT, Sunday River ME & 12 More Ski Resorts since a major player in the ski resort industry is apparently looking to get out. CNL Lifetime Properties, a company valued at approximately 3 billion dollars in 2012 is one of the largest names in the ski industry. They own 16 ski resorts throughout the Unites States and Canada – worth hundreds of millions of dollars combined. Some of the more well known resorts include Northstar at Tahoe in California, Brighton in Utah and our beloved Crested Butte Mountain Resort. They also own some lesser known ski hills including a handful of resorts in the Northeast like Sugarloaf and Sunday River in Maine, Okemo Mountain in Vermont and Mount Sunapee in New Hampshire. In the Pacific Northwest, they have Cypress Mountain in B.C. Canada and Stevens Pass in Washington. Most of these resorts are operated by companies like Boyne Resorts, Vail Resorts or Triple Peaks (which operates Crested Butte), so even if the resorts are sold off, the operations will likely remain unchanged. With a goal to sell all of the resorts by December 31st, 2015 there are bound to be some interesting changes in the ski industry coming soon.
