Girls that Shred: Meet Wendy Fisher
From the world athletic stage of the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, to features in the widely popular Matchstick movies, Wendy Fisher has made her home right here in Crested Butte, Colorado. Wendy began ski racing on the Squaw Valley Ski Team at the age of six. Her love of skiing grew and she ended up at a boarding school in Vermont with some of the best young skiers in the world. At the age of 15, Wendy made the U.S. Ski Team which took her all the way to the Super Combined and Giant Slalom competitions at the 1992 Olympics. Tired of all the competition, and promised a couch in Crested Butte, Wendy found herself at the end of Highway 135 high in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Wendy has never lost her love of skiing and is now a wife, mom to two boys and of all things, a DJ. “Oh my gosh, it’s so much fun,” Fisher says of her work as DJ Red. As the Crested Butte Mountain Ambassador, Wendy not only gets to share her love of skiing with her family but also those who visit Crested Butte Mountain Resort.  See more at Girls that Shred: Meet Wendy Fisher.
