National Aviation Day | Celebrating Sky-High Achievements
Today we celebrate the 78th Annual National Aviation Day. Started by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1939 to celebrate and honor the birthday of one of the greatest aviation pioneers.  Orville Wright, considered to be one of the founding father of aviation, was still alive that August day that FDR gave the presidential proclamation. Each year on August 19th we honor and celebrate our airborne achievements. The First Flight Society holds a celebration each year at the Wright Brothers National Memorial Park in North Carolina. Here at Sotheby’s International Realty, we recognize National Aviation Day | Celebrating Sky-High Achievements by showcasing 5 homes from around the world designed with the aviator in mind. From Texas to France, these homes offer not only luxurious amenities but aviation amenities as well. From historic WWII air strips to helicopter bays, these properties are sure to turn the heads of the avid aviator.
