Colorado’s 10 Most Picturesque Mountain Towns
Of course it comes as no surprise that Crested Butte has not only made the list but holds the No. 1 spot of Colorado’s 10 Most Picturesque Mountain Towns. Colorado is home to many unique, postcard-like mountain towns. With the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, Crested Butte and it’s historic Elk Avenue, with it’s well preserved, colorful buildings, (in our opinion) deserves the No. 1 spot hands down. Every season in Crested Butte brings color to this lively little ski town. Spring brings lush green meadows to our mountain sides and valleys. In the Summer time our hillsides are splashed with color from the millions of beautiful wildflowers, making Crested Butte the “Wildflower Capital of Colorado”. Fall is just as amazing with the spectacular changing of the leaves. Brilliant golds, yellows, fiery oranges and reds in the aspens bring much color throughout the autumn season. The clean, crips winter snow brings out the colorful buildings along Elk Avenue making for a picture perfect backdrop for your holiday card photos. We may be partial to Crested Butte but we can’t deny that there are some as equally beautiful mountain towns here in Colorado. To our south we enjoy the “Little Switzerland” of Colorado – Ouray, as well as Telluride, Silverton and Creede which also make the list. Victor, Colorado, which comes in at No. 7, is an adorable historic mining town with a ton of charm.
