Is your home properly insured? With the incredible increase in property values over the past year, it’s important to know your home’s value. Colorado has seen some incredibly destructive wildfires over the past few years. Maintaining adequate home insurance coverage is more important now than ever. A current real estate market analysis, or CMA, is an in-depth property analysis that helps determine your home’s current value. We recommend obtaining a CMA once a year to ensure your home is properly insured.

Wildfire season is right around the corner making this a great time to obtain a CMA and meet with your insurance agent. In addition, Gunnison County is hosting a Public Meeting on Wednesday, March 23rd to discuss Wildfire Risk and Reduction. The discussion will focus on wildfire risks and hazards in Gunnison County as well as methods we can use to reduce risk. Local fire professionals will be in attendance and available to answer questions. Additionally, County staff will present an overview of the International Wildland Urban Interface code and policy recommendations.  Anyone is invited to attend. This discussion will be especially beneficial for Homeowners, Property Managers, HOAs, Contractors, and realtors.
