Cynthia Stanley

Cynthia has shaped her life and career around the belief that where you decide to call home is the foundation of a life well lived. Raised in Boulder, Colorado, she cultivated a deep appreciation for mountain communities, where thoughtful design and a deeper connection to the surrounding landscapes define the fabric of everyday life. Her perspective was further refined through studying and working abroad in Venezuela, Brazil, and Japan, where she expanded her understanding and appreciation of culture, connection, and community.

After earning a degree in International Affairs from the University of Colorado Boulder, Cynthia began her career in corporate procurement, where she developed expertise in strategic planning, negotiation, and client relationship management. But it was her growing passion for helping people align their lifestyle with a connection to place that ultimately drew her to real estate—a field where her professional expertise and personal values converge.

After several years in the corporate sector, Cynthia and her family relocated to Bozeman, Montana, where she launched her real estate career and quickly established herself as a trusted advisor. Drawing on her background of negotiation and client relations, she built a practice centered on understanding her clients’ deeper motivations—not just finding properties but facilitating meaningful transitions and helping establish roots in places that aligned with their values and aspirations.

In 2016, Cynthia returned to Colorado with her husband, Peter, and their children, Donovan and Chloe, to settle in Crested Butte — a long-held dream realized. Drawn by the town’s authentic character, strong sense of community, and unmatched access to the outdoors, Crested Butte embodies her ethos of living intentionally. Devoted to raising her family and thoughtfully integrating into the Crested Butte community, Cynthia immersed herself in Gunnison Valley living – volunteering at the local school, building authentic relationships, and learning the nuances of this unique area. Her commitment to the local community has included leadership roles such as Board President and Interim Executive Director of the Crested Butte School of Dance from 2020–2023, deepening her understanding of the local landscape and the people who call it home.

In 2024, Cynthia returned to real estate by joining forces with Jaima Giles-Alsum at LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, where her relationship-driven approach and an authentic understanding of the Crested Butte community prove to be invaluable. Most recently, Cynthia and Jaima have joined the Crested Butte Collection team, forming a partnership rooted in collaboration, integrity, and a shared commitment to exceptional service.
