Jaima Giles-Alsum has cultivated her career around a philosophy of abundance and an unwavering commitment to helping others thrive. Serving as Managing Broker of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty’s Crested Butte office for over four years, she guided a team of twenty agents in developing strategic real estate practices throughout Gunnison County.
Jaima’s connection to Crested Butte runs remarkably deep. Born in Wichita, Kansas, and raised outside Atlanta, Georgia, she spent formative years visiting her grandfather in Crested Butte—a visionary involved in the development of the ski resort who built a home on the mountain in 1962. This multigenerational legacy instilled in her an abiding appreciation for the valley’s unique character and potential.
After relocating to Crested Butte as a young adult, Jaima earned her degree from Western State College in Gunnison and subsequently obtained her real estate license. Over more than twenty years in the industry, she has built enduring relationships with clients, many of whom have become lifelong friends and trusted advisors in return. Her twenty-eight years of residency in the valley afford her an intimate understanding of the market’s nuances, emerging trends, and the intangible qualities that make Crested Butte exceptional.

Jaima’s professional excellence has been recognized through numerous accolades, including being named Realtor of the Year in 2019. She served on the CREN MLS Board of Directors for seven years, and held the position of Chair and Past Chair of the Board of Directors for the Gunnison/Crested Butte Association of Realtors for three years.
Beyond real estate, Jaima demonstrates a deep commitment to community stewardship. She actively supports the Adaptive Sports Center, which provides recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities, Living Journeys, an organization offering support to families navigating cancer, and the Crested Butte Land Trust, an organization aimed at preserving open spaces throughout Gunnison County. As a major investor in RPAC, she champions political advocacy that protects homeownership and private property rights at the local, state, and federal levels.
When away from the office, Jaima enjoys an active mountain lifestyle with her husband, whether sailing their twenty-two-foot Catalina or pursuing her passions for alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, and scuba diving. An avid animal lover, she finds joy in the natural beauty that surrounds her daily.
