Crested Butte Nordic has compiled Your Guide to the Alley Loop 2017. The annual event, which takes place Saturday, February 4th is one of Crested Butte’s coolest affairs – combining the competition of a serious athletic event with the shenanigans of any other Crested Butte festival. The Alley Loop is Colorado’s biggest nordic race and one of Crested Butte’s biggest winter parties. Not a serious competitor? No problem. In addition to the more hard core categories (like the 42 kilometer classic and skate races) there are also 5k and 10k costume categories as well as 1k and 3k kids races. If you have no intention of strapping on skinny skis at all, you can watch from the sidelines (costumes optional), as the Alley Loop courses travel right down Elk Avenue allowing everyone to get in on the fun! Check out Your Guide to the Alley Loop 2017 for all the details including a full schedule of events, course descriptions, awards ceremonies, the pub ski and the Alley Loop Yurt Dinner. There is also and information on race day waxing and ski demos.
Live results will be available here on race day.
